Short & Sweet

Peter opened the meeting with a warm welcome extended to our guests last Monday evening (28 Sept). Dee soon followed with the introduction of her role as General Evaluator and her team Rachel (Grammarian) and Colin (Timekeeper). Rachel gave us the word for the evening 'Vociferous' which means expressing or characterised by vehement opinions.
James had a random theme for his table topics; a great set of questions with two options for speakers to chose from.

Colin chose to talk about what's better; rather than what's worse. Rachel couldn't fail her goal to climb Mt Everest. Robyn touched on personal freedoms and compared what we have to day with what people had in the past. Amy spoke about being the smartest. And Chris chose to opt for being the best player of the worst team, rather than the worst player on the best team.

Evaluator: Craig

Speaker: Graeme

Evaluator Johno

We were then treated to four amazing speeches by Tracey, Amy, Graeme and Ian, who received a great set of introductions, commendations and recommendations from evaluators Craig, Netta, Johno and Nick respectively.

Congratulations go to:
  • Robyn for the best table topic
  • Tracey for the best speech
  • Craig for the best evaluation
  • Rachel for the best contribution
Well, the title of this report was short and sweet, and this report has certainly lived up to expectations!

  1. 'Short and sweet' but better than nothing! Watch the spelling of member's names-they are important to them!
