Another stirring Napier Toastmasters evening it was! Joyleen did a professional job at hosting the night as the club's Toastmaster. Greg revealed the word of the day, "paucity", and encouraged us to watch out for our urrms… Thanks for stepping in to fulfil this role Greg at the last minute!
We only had two speeches for the night but first up we had a Toastmasters international contest contender in Roz. A speech that was full of drama and told Roz's frightening account of a car crash in the South Island of NZ. With a little tweaking this speech could represent our club on a world stage! The second speech of the night was Graeme. He revealed that he once beat an NZ Olympic runner on the running track and went onto wax lyrical about how much joy watching your sports team can provide (we can all certainly relate to that!). Jan hosted an extended table topics giving participants 2-3 minutes to discuss midwinter festivity related topics.
Karen, Craig, Steve and Roz delivered typically polished evaluations. Great work all round team for another fantastic night.
Award winners for the night:
Best table topic - Karen
Best speaker - Roz
Best evaluator - Karen
Best contributor - Greg
