Despite the visible absence of a timekeeper, members who had RSVP-ed arrived on time to attend the prestigious evening - once again organised by our own Sarah. The "prestigious-ness" was made obvious with the Napier Toastmasters banner hanging ever so proudly in the side room at Off The Track. Its radiance was further enhanced with the new president's distinguished club ribbon attached right at the end - a first since 2010!
Craig started the evening by acknowledging various members who had performed highly in the last 12 months, including Ian achieving his CC for the 4th time, Sarah achieving her ACB, Craig achieving his CC for the 13th time, Steve achieving his ACS for the second time, and James achieving his first ever CC. On top of that, Craig mentioned the membership count was at a low point of only 16 members a few months ago before bouncing back strongly to 22 under his leadership. Special highlight was given to Amy and Craig himself for reaching the finals at National Contest this year where Amy won the bronze medal, thus showcasing Napier Toastmasters Club's potential. At the end, Craig closed off by giving out some awards to various members (described at the bottom).

After diners had placed their dessert order, Steve took over the center stage and picked three volunteers (spotted the oxymoron?) to do a series of calculation using good o' pen and paper. All of us were left with our jaws dropping when.... the dessert arrived; but also when Steve correctly predicted the calculation outcome. After that, Steve asked us to get together with other members who have the same choice for a country to visit and encouraged us to say why we picked our respective country. Some key highlights included "a cycle tour in Italy" and a "
holiday in Japan to enjoy the use of advanced toilets".
