What a great start to the year.
Thank you Sarah, Mathew and Samantha for being such wonderful hosts. With about 22 to 23 attendees, it was a great turnout thanks to Sarah Hall's planning.
Craig and Steve (the photographer) cooked the food to perfection. Thanks to everyone for bringing salads and dessert.
Chris presented a round of impromptu table topics with a difference. Each speaker was presented with a prop and some instructions and ideas to guide their preparation. Samantha assisted the speakers with perfect timing by bringing the props out as required.
Sarah Hall filled in a few gaps between the speakers with some jokes.
Paul McPherson talked about building sand castles in Spain and taking them to the Turks.
Sarah Lee shared an experience of how she wanted to wear a bikini, but ended up in a guys Art Deco styled swim suit.
Ian gave us a game of charades pitting one side of the room with the other, and used plenty of hand gestures to throw the teams off track. Ian's prop was a boogie board.
Our new member Tony kept some of us guessing what his prop was until the very end - a beach volleyball.
Last of all Christine took to dressing up in a swimsuit.
Thanks to:
- Samantha who assisted the speakers with perfect timing by bringing the props out as required
- Sarah Hall who filled in a few gaps between the speakers with some jokes
- Steve who timed the gap between speeches, and
- Hannah who took care of the iPad lights for timing the speeches.
All in all, it was a great social event and everyone had a lot of fun.
What an excellent night that was, roll on next year-Venue???
