Best Club Website - Dale Hartle Award 2012/2013

We've won!

At the District 72 convention in Welllington, Napier Toastmasters Club received the Dale Hartle Award for the best club internet presence.

Here is some of the feedback from the judges:

"One of the biggest challenges with a website is to get the management of the site right. Without a dedicated management, a site will remain static – almost forgotten – which is not a good promotion of Toastmasters in general and the Club specifically. Napier Toastmasters is a very good example of the fact that a combination of good management, member involvement and a web platform that is suitable for requirements produces a Club website which looks good, feels good and is very unique to your Club without the need to be a master web developer. Well done, Napier Toastmasters!"

"The content on the Napier Toastmasters site is definitely original. Inclusion of the club Honours Board delivers an interesting read, a picture of the Club banner with explanation of all the ribbons is something more Clubs should do, and the photo's which accompany news items clearly shows the Club's great atmosphere. The blog- structure of the site allows for easy additions of meeting summaries which keeps the content – and thus the site – fresh and interesting."

"A customised Blogger-template has created a truly unique site for Napier Toastmasters. It has resulted in a site which can be showcased with pride, and which is a very good example of what can be achieved without the need to code the site yourself from scratch. Coordinated member contributions keep the atmosphere on the site lively and interesting, and keeps the content original and fresh."

There are of course some recommendations, which will be implemented over time. As soon as the feedback form is posted on the Toastmasters New Zealand site, I'll add a link.

Cheers

Chris
