Club Meeting July 25

Winter has arrived but none the less the meeting happened. 20 hardy souls including five visitors attended. In the Chair was David Grant who steered the meeting through last minute apologies and a programme that gradually got further behind inspite of some trimming!Table Topics was conducted by Danny Mills and best response was visitor Andy! The evaluators were Laurance bacchus and Ian Wright who got the Best Evaluator award for the night. First speech was on Gold by Peter Manson introduced and evaluated by Colin Anderson. It got the gold for Best Speech that evening. We then had an education session from Sarah Hall on Table Topics in anticipation of the Contest next meeting.

The second speech was by Nick Stillwell “Life beyond the Border” about the perils of crossing from Thailand to Cambodia. This was part of the education session on Evaluation so everyone got to give an opinion. The session was ably conducted by Craig Robinson and proved very informative. So much so that Craig was awarded Best Contribution of the evening. The General Evaluation was by Graeme Valentine assisted by Grammarian Christine Tutbury and Time Keeper Steve Tutbury.
